What if someone was making life was miserable for everyone in your village?
Things are about to change when Baba Yaga sends her son to torment a wise young girl. Kate, a young girl is ready for bed and her Grandmother Emma proposes to tell a story. The grandmother often tells stories from the Bible or one of the folk stories she learned when growing up. That evening she proposes a story about Baba Yaga and a wise young girl. Baba Yaga is a wicked sorceress who lives in a damp house in a dark forest. She has special powers and has managed to gain control over the King of Winter and the Queen of Summer. She commands them to destroy the lives of people in the villages. Then they meet a young girl and the conflict begins. When Grandmother Emma finishes telling the story, she explains lessons to be learned. This opens a discussion with Kate on what it means to be wise leading to some insights into the very real conflict between good and evil. Pointing to a heavenly faith, the story leads to the love and forgiveness of God. |
